With Christmas and New Years Eve parties on the horizon I've been thinking a lot about dresses. Getting dressed up and having somewhere special to go if half the fun. Especially now that most events and our day to day lives are so casual. All this to say that Prom is one of the most formal events (besides your own wedding) where it's appropriate to wear a formal full length gown.

Recently I had the pleasure of stumbling upon Sassy My Prom. An online store dedicated to special occasion dresses. They carry everything from casual day dresses, to Homecoming, Prom, and even bridesmaids and wedding dresses. All dresses are made-to-order straight from their factory thereby saving you lots of money. Plus, having a made-to-order dress allows for a perfect fit with your exact measurements, the possibility to choose a different color, and the probability that no one else will be wearing the same dress.

Since prom is only 4 or 5 months away now's a great time to take advantage of Winter Break and shop online. Because their dresses are made-to-order delivery time can take up to 30 business days depending on the dress so make sure and plan accordingly.

Black is one of my favorite colors to wear so it wasn't hard to find several black prom dresses that I loved. From the capped sleeves on the first dress, to the full skirt on the second, to the cold shoulder and asymmetrical hem of the third, and the beautiful lace long sleeves and high slit on the last dress. I'm already thinking of an excuse to wear any one of these gorgeous dresses!

Burgundy is fast becoming another favorite shade of mine. It's such a pretty dark rich shade that looks great on so many different skin tones. I love that the first dress is two-piece with long sleeves and just a hint of skin, the beaded belt on the second dress oh so pretty, gold and burgundy together on the third dress is such a pretty combination, and I love the appliqué on the last dress. Here's a link to all the burgundy prom dresses as well as plus size prom dresses too.

If you're not in search of the perfect prom dress you can find sequin dresses (perfect for New Years Eve), cocktail dresses, and day dresses.

Thank you to Sassy My Prom for sponsoring this post.

  1. Ladies clothing is certainly evolving from earlier decades of the last fifty years. The Autumn/Winter 2010 fashion trends will bring back the phrase, "anything goes" as far as style, fabrics, and colours are concerned. Be on the look-out for brighter than bright autumn colours at their best. Orange, yellow, red, and, yes, brown is the new black. chelsea womens clothing

    1. I completely agree with the "anything goes" when it comes to fashion, and I love the brighter autumn colors I'm seeing right now especially the reds and yellows.
