Several years ago I saw a girl wearing a purse around her waist like a fanny pack. I thought what a clever idea, but never got around to trying it out myself. With New York fashion week flooding my Instagram and Pinterest feed, I've noticed many girls sporting designer fanny packs, reminding me once again to give this look a try. Grabbing one of my thinnest/smallest black bags I unbuckled the adjustable cross-body strap I wrapped the bag around my waist twice before securing it on the tightest notch on my bag's strap.

Not only was I able to try this new again 90's trend without having to purchase a new bag, but It also solved the problem of needing to add a belt to this boxy dress. The next time I find a need for hands free shopping, dog walking, concerts, traveling, etc. I'll remember that a fanny pack or in my case a faux fanny pack is another great option besides the typical cross-body.
